Body

Diet and exercise are important in the fight against fat, but sometimes, they simply aren’t enough.

Persistent fat deposits can cling to problem areas like your hips, thighs, abdomen, arms and buttocks, refusing to go away no matter how much you exercise. We offer body contouring surgery, near Boston and Maine at our Southern New Hampshire facility in Portsmouth. If you have areas of fat that won’t go away, Atlantic Plastic Surgery Center can help, using body contouring procedures such as:

Liposuction

Liposuction (or suction-assisted lipectomy) has become one of the most frequently performed procedures in plastic surgery. Liposuction is actually a surgical vacuuming of fat cells, which decreases the number of fat cells in the area treated, making that area which was disproportionate to the rest of the body, smaller and more in balance.

Liposuction is highly effective for removing localized areas of fat from the hips, thighs, buttocks, and abdomen, knees, calves, arms and neck. Men most often seek liposuction to treat love handles or enlarged breasts, referred to as gynecomastia. Liposuction is not an alternative to weight reduction but can be very effective in removing fat from areas that do not respond to diet and exercise programs. Our Southern New Hampshire office near Boston and Maine in Portsmouth offers liposuction with proven safety, minimal scarring, and outstanding results. read more…

Drainless Tummy Tuck

Lipo-Tummy Tuck with No Drains, which reduces fat from the entire abdomen and does not require a second operation. It is a safer operation with better results than the typical tummy tuck. This procedure has important benefits: It gives surgeons a technique to avoid the use of drains when performing a tummy tuck. Tummy tucks with liposuction and No Drains at the same time can improve the contours and shape of the abdomen and overall body proportion. Patients are up and about in just a few days. Patients are much more comfortable without drains being attached and having to empty them or have the surgeon withdraw fluid. This method also results in less pain after surgery, and provides a quicker recovery, of critical importance to patients. read more…

Body Lift

A circumferential abdominoplasty or a belt lipectomy, also known as a “body lift”, is an operation to remove the excess skin, fat and tissue around your hips and waistline and back. The width of the “belt” of tissue to be removed depends upon the amount of extra skin and fat you have. Following removal of the tissue in this “belt” distribution, upper skin and tissue is pulled down and lower skin and tissue is pulled up giving you tighter and more youthful looking body including stomach, back, and waistline above as well as thighs, hips and buttocks bellow. The scar will all the way around the body and will fade dramatically in time. read more…

Arm Lift

An arm lift, also called brachioplasty, removes excess skin and fat from the arms between the underarm and elbow. Skin on the upper arms can lose elasticity or the ability to stretch and retract. Arms can become loose and flabby after weight loss, weight gain, years of excess weight, the effects of aging or from excessively tanning (chronic photo-aging). read more…

Thigh Lift

A thigh lift reshapes the thighs by reducing excess skin, and in some cases, fat, resulting in smoother skin and better proportioned contours of the thighs and lower body. If you have been unable to achieve a younger looking, more proportionate thigh contour through weight loss and firmness efforts, a thigh lift may be the right choice for you.
